This run was a blast after the relatively tame after the Washington to Edwards Crossing run above. Paul and I continued on the E-P (said "Eeetapee") section and totally bombed the whole thing, only stopping to scout Easy Ugly. It took less than 45 minutes, and the only advice we had was ‘stay right’ which was mostly correct. To this advice I would add, "run everything wherever it looks good, unless you can’t tell, and then run right." Mostly its all good. The run starts real fast with a drop under the takeout bridge for the run above. This drop is quick, but straightforward down the middle.
The river gorges quickly hereafter and the action doesn’t stop for a few miles down. The rapids are all good to go and there are many ledges and smallish drops.
The first rapid that needs attention is about 2 miles into the run. Easy Ugly has large boulders in the middle blocking the whole river, a sieve in the middle. The run is to the right, and is a really easy move, thus the name.
Below here the next rapid is a really messy drop. We ran right and it was pretty chunky. There is a steep drop into a hole that flipped me over and pushed me downstream.
The rest of the run has some other fun drops and ledges. It is all in a beautiful, roadless canyon with spectacular scenery and crystal clear water. It can be run as low as 500, but would be very boney. No complaints on this one. Really superb.
